(Lansing and Ann Arbor locations)
Ele’s Place needs occasional help with various types of special projects. These projects include:
Outreach Ambassador
Ele’s Place outreach ambassadors represent the organization at community outreach events such as family resources fairs, volunteer recruitment fairs, and other similar opportunities to let people know about Ele’s Place. Ambassadors answer basic questions about Ele’s Place services and volunteer opportunities and help to educate the community about the needs of grieving children. An optional training program is provided, so ambassadors can learn about Ele’s Place services and other related information.
Fundraising Events Volunteers
These volunteers help with a variety of needs related to major fundraising events for Ele’s Place, depending on the event. Examples of needs include helping with registration, taking admission tickets, setting up and cleaning up, assisting with children’s activities, and serving refreshments.
Brochure Delivery Volunteers
These volunteers deliver Ele’s Place brochures or other materials to schools, funeral homes, doctors’ offices, community agencies, etc. as assigned. Detailed instructions are provided for each assignment. Generally, these deliveries need to be made during the weekday office hours.
We prefer to have adult volunteers help with most of these assignments, but mature teens (16 and older) are welcome to assist with some of the fund-raising events and brochure deliveries.
