UNPAID Special Events Intern | Part-Time (10-15 Hours/Week for 2-3 Months) | West Michigan

 

Ele's Place - West Michigan is seeking someone interested in an internship to work with our Development team. Our peer grief support programs are offered free of charge for as long as a family needs them. That said, we are 100% supported by individuals, companies, small businesses, and foundations in our community through donations, pledges, sponsorships, and fundraising events. We seek a self-motivated and passionate intern interested in Ele’s Place's mission of creating awareness of and support for grieving children, teens, and their families while gaining valuable organizational and fundraising event experience.

Under the direction of the Events & Outreach Coordinator, the Special Events Intern will work on the planning, preparation, and organization of our signature fundraising event, Courage, Comfort & Cocktails (CCC). The intern should be a self-starter who will take on high-level roles for fundraising events, be a clear communicator, and want to gain experience in event and sponsor relations.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:  Must be available in person for the CCC event all day/evening on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in planning the CCC event, coordinating with event stakeholders (vendors, sponsors, etc.), and execution.
  • Maintain auction items within Click-Bid Auction software, including assisting with procuring auction items and auction forms, bundling auction packages, photographing auction items, and writing auction program copy.
  • Other marketing tasks related to the events as needed (ticketing/registration site updates, etc.).
  • Assist with third-party planning and marketing details.
  • Assist with sponsorship and donor acknowledgment.

Qualifications:

  • Should possess strong ethics and integrity, outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong academic record.
  • Seeking a take-charge, personable individual who manages administrative details and event logistics.

Other necessary qualifications include:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Passionate about the Ele’s Place mission and making a difference in our community.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, problem solve, and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and is highly reliable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient using Office 365 and Google Docs.
