Peer Grief Support Groups
Ele’s Place is welcoming families into our branches across the state of Michigan, and we are honored to serve grieving children, teens and their families in-person once again. The health and safety of our families, volunteers and staff remains our number one priority. Protocols are in place to make this transition back into our building safe and thoughtful.
Ele's Place offers ongoing in-person peer support groups during the evening for grieving children and teens ages 3-18. Groups are offered at no cost to the families.
Groups are divided by age/grade, and typically include: Preschool/Kindergarten, Early Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School, High School, and at some branches, Young Adult.
Groups allow children and teens to realize they are not alone by connecting with individuals their age, and are led by trained volunteers with oversight by Clinical Program Staff.
Support groups for the parents or guardians of Ele’s Place children or teens are available and facilitated by Licensed Clinicians. It’s important to be able to support adults in their grief, so they can be more present with their child’s/teen’s grief.
Peer grief support services vary slightly in each community. Please contact the branch location closest to you for specific peer grief support group details.
