Program Director – Ann Arbor
Ele's Place is seeking a full-time Program Director for their Ann Arbor, Michigan location. The Program Director is responsible for implementing and coordinating the branch development plan for Ele’s Place-Ann Arbor, overseeing the delivery and overall success of the Ele’s Place Program Model for assigned branch and providing supervision to the program staff located within assigned branch.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures the consistency and quality of Ele’s Place program model within the branch including monitoring the appropriate content of support group activities and activities rooms.
- Oversees/provides guidance, resources, and referrals to members of the community in need of support for grieving children.
- Oversees/provides family intakes and orientation meetings for prospective families, and provides follow-up as needed.
- Oversees group assignments for family members, and provides guidance for families about programming questions or concerns.
- Identifies and coordinates Ele’s Place families in need of referrals to mental health therapists, protective services or other outside resources.
- Ensures that child safety policies, emergency procedures, and building safety policies are followed by all program staff and volunteers.
- Ensures accurate, up-to-date maintenance of family records in database.
- Acts as a liaison to the Program Advisory Committee; coordinates Committee meetings.
- Oversees evaluation procedures and uses evaluation information to make program improvements. These reports may be provided to the branch Director, the EPMI team, Community Boards, and the Program Advisory Committee.
- Conducts/oversees educational trainings and appropriate speaking engagements for outside groups.
- Directly participates and/or delegates the participation in community outreach representing program related content.
- Provides clinical supervision point for all staff.
- Facilitates program team meetings – development of program content, etc.
- Plans/schedules program calendar (e.g. Remembrance ceremony, bubble release, etc.).
- Directly supervises, facilitates the supervision, or delegates the supervision of the license of Bereavement Coordinators in accordance with the needs of the organization.
- Provides general supervision and guidance to program staff in the assigned branch location for instances such as time off approval, staffing, professional development.
- Oversees/provides training for all program staff and volunteers within the assigned branch location.
- Encourages and assists with the building of strategic relationships between subordinate staff and other Ele’s Place employees (e.g. branch program staff, headquarters staff, and other staff members located in various branches).
- Assigns work to program staff to meet all operational and programmatic needs of the branch.
- Develops and/or implements new or expanded approved programs.
- Directly supervises, facilitates the supervision, or delegates the supervision of the license of Bereavement Coordinators in accordance with the needs of the organization.
- Contributes to the development and/or implementation of the Ele’s Place branch operational plan.
- Works with Human Resources to recruit highly skilled staff who are committed to the organization’s mission and success.
- Identifies, evaluates, and resolves problems that occur in the branch by working cooperatively with all parties involved.
- Works with Human Resources to enhance the growth and professional development of subordinate staff.
- Creating/Bolstering Strong Partnership with Branch Director
- Regularly engaging in purposeful communication with the Branch Director to effectively co-lead the branch location.
- Works cooperatively to develop and implement the branch’s operational plan.
- Works cooperatively to facilitate and coordinate regular “All Staff” meetings.
- Identifies, evaluates, and resolves problems that occur in the branch by working in partnership with the Branch Director to reach a reasonable solution for all parties involved.
- Works cooperatively to develop messaging for community outreach that represents both the interests of the program group’s and maintains the integrity of the Ele’s Place program model.
- All other duties as assigned.
Expectations: The Program Director may be asked to participate in committees that address programmatic issues impacting the entire organization. This position serves as a member of the branch’s leadership as it works cohesively with its counterpart, the Branch Director. This position may have access to children, sensitive information, financial information, etc. and is subject to a criminal background check. Background checks are completed before onboarding with Ele’s Place and annually thereafter to mitigate risk, ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being.
Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in a mental health-related field required.
Certifications, Licensure, Registrations: LMSW, LP, LPC, or LMFC state licensure (or equivalent state licensure with a master's degree in a mental health-related field).
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years’ post-licensure experience working in mental health-related field, particularly working with grief issues.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
- Experience working with and inspiring volunteers.
- Experience building and managing an effective, committed staff.
